Grab some pretty flowers and leaves, press and dry them and let’s make the Flower Garland!
![]()
Do you remember my Flower Sun Catcher? It’s best to hand in spring or summer over here when there’s more light than in autumn and winter. The Flower Garland brings some colors to the household when then light fades. I dried some blossoms and leaves from out garden, you can use anything you can press and dry.

We’ll be using homemade Air-Dry Clay which you can make with this tutorial from just 3 ingredients.

Flower Garland Tutorial
Prepare the clay
![]()
Prepare the clay with this tutorial.
Cutouts
![]()
Roll out the clay to about 1 cm/0.4 thick and cut out round shapes.
![]()
Place them on your working table so they don’t touch each other.
![]()
Pinch one hole about 1 cm/0.4 in from the edge, not closer or the round shapes will break.
![]()
Place some dried plants on each shape and press it gently into the clay using a wooden stick.
![]()
I made more pieces than I later used for the garland.
![]()
Put them aside, they will dry for 24 hours.
Hanging
![]()
Tie a string where you want the garland to hang. Or you can use a nice tree branch instead of the string.
![]()
Prepare a piece of string for each piece. Each string must be twice as long as you want it because you’ll be folding them in half.
![]()
Pull one end of the string through the hole in the piece and then both ends through a wooden bead.
![]()
Tie this piece in one place around the long string on the wall and twist the ends around or cut them off.
![]()
Continue hanging the pieces. I find it looks best if there’s some kind of symetry.
